2010 Ford Fusion Pricing Starts Under $19,300, Hybrid At $27,270 [2010 Ford Fusion]

The 2010 Ford Fusion, for those who admired its sharp Gillette looks, will start at $19,270 for the base S model with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine matched with a six-speed manual transmission, just $135 more than the base 2009 Fusion, which isn't as powerful or quite as good looking as the new Fusion. For those wanting to be green, the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid will start at $27,270, a little over $1,000 more than the Toyota Camry Hybrid. But that added grand for the Fusion hybrid will supposedly get you an extra 5 MPG more than the 33 city / 34 highway numbers of the 2009 Camry hybrid. The rest of the pricing below.

2010 Ford Fusion Pricing

2010 Fusion S — $19,270

Rolls-Royce Camargue prepped for the hunt

Click above for full gallery of this Rolls-Royce Camargue Custom Falconry Sporting Vehicle

This unholy marriage of a Rolls-Royce and possibly a Jeepster is the product of Swiss mad-scientist Franco Sbarro. Apparently, it was commissioned by an Arab sheik (natch) who was a huge fan of falconry. While the chassis and amenities remain, the doors have been removed, the windshield drops down to give a clear view of the road ahead, and a special falconer's platform has been built into the trunk area that extends out to provide an elevated place to stand on.

What started out as a 1978 Rolls-Royce Camargue, has turned into a butch Fiat Jolly in 1980. Dubbed the "Rolls-Royce Camargue Custom Falconry Sporting Vehicle," it is also referred to as "Hunting Car of His Royal High Ness," or just "Hunting Car" or "Falconry sporting vehicle." The price of the conversion was about twice what it cost new (£83,122), so figure around $400,000 in 1980 prices, for this one-off Roller.

As far as new things on this year’s Phaeton, in the front we have a new front bumper, grille and headlight-units, while the back will get slightly re-designed taillamps. Rumors of a V10 TDi engine are still unconfirmed at this time.

2010 Ford Mustang by Hot Wheels up close and personal

Click above for high-res gallery of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT by Hot Wheels

Shortly after the LA Auto Show debut of the 2010 Ford Mustang, the automaker announced that Mattel would be releasing its own replica of the new model as part of its Hot Wheels lineup. Somehow in all the running around after the reveal in LA, we missed out on picking up an example and Ford didn't have any press photos available. Fortunately Ford's Dan Jarvis came to the rescue and provided Autoblog with one of the toys for a photo shoot. As you can see, the team at Hot Wheels has made the usual array of tweaks in order to minimize the aerodynamic drag of the new car and maximize fuel efficiency. The exterior mirrors have been removed and the grille has been blanked off to force air flow around the car. The biggest change, however, was deleting the powertrain. Normally, this might be a problem, but like other Hot Wheels editions, this car derives its propulsive force from external sources.

New EPA Mileage Calculator

Epasticker270

We’ve reported before on the change in EPA mileage estimates on new 2008 models, but there’s still a lot of confusion about how to figure out what a 2007 model’s adjusted estimate would be if the 2008 version hasn’t been released yet. That’s a problem, because you need to cross-shop on mileage as accurately as possible, right? Well, Kiplinger’s has launched a tool that allows you to search new 2007 models and find out what their 2008 EPA mileage equivalent should be.

The results bring up three selections: the vehicle you searched for, and the best and worst mileage in that class. These are estimates based on the EPA's new testing procedures but all of them aren't the official EPA figures.

We list some examples below, but go to What's Your Real MPG? to calculate any vehicle.

Reader Review of the Week

Consreviews_2_1

Since it’s a busy news day at Cars.com, we went with a short but sweet review this week. Sean from Bergen County, N.J., gives a brief report on his new Suzuki SX4, which we have for you below. After checking out the past SX4 reviews left by our readers, though, we can honestly say there is some interesting feedback from all of them regarding different transmission and trim levels. You can read them all here, and check out Sean’s award-winning comments below. Don't forget you can write your own car review anytime.

2007suzukisx4

“I also have the base model with the five-speed and I have to say it's a lot of fun to drive. The AWD works great in the snow and the five-speed really helps the car move out. It does seem a little thirsty in the gas department, but seems to average around 22 mpg. For the price you can't go wrong. It’s fun to drive, has AWD and looks great, too. The only thing I don't like about my SX4 is the window switches feel cheap.”

BMW 335d Sedan With BluePerformance, A Diesel For The Masses [Bmw 335d]

BMW dropped their hotrod oil burner today at the LA Auto Show, showcasing a twin-turbo 3.0 liter diesel engine that is both quick and clean. Clean enough to be legal in all 50 states while keeping it's fun factor. Power numbers sit pretty at 265 horses and 425 lbs-ft of torque; just enough to pull the porch off of your buddy's house, if you so desire. Sprints from 0-60 run at a very non-dieselish six seconds flat while fuel mileage estimates are 23 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the open road. Of course, iDrive is back with an all-new learning curve to bring many hours of knob-spinning glee as you fumble your way through a plethora of menus. Full details in the press release below.

Check out more on the BMW 335d from CarandDriver.com

BMW Advanced Diesel with BluePerformance: efficiency and dynamics in abundance
With the introduction of the new BMW Advanced diesel powered 335d and X5 xDrive35d models, the BMW Group announces another step in its strategy for EfficientDynamics. Both models will feature a 50-state emission compliant version of BMW's award winning sequential-turbo 3.0-liter diesel engine - the first performance-oriented and efficient Advanced Diesel engine in BMW's U.S. line.

The sequential-turbo 3.0-liter diesel engine powering both models employs both a very small and a larger turbocharger combined with an innovative intake system enabling the engine to develop 265 hp. Even more impressive are the torque characteristics. Fully 80% of the torque is available from 1100rpm to 4200rpm. The peak torque is 425 lbs-ft at 1750rpm - almost as much as BMW's 6.0-liter V12. The performance is what the enthusiast would expect from a BMW. The 335d is capable of sprinting from 0 - 60 mph in six seconds flat. The X5 xDrive35d will do it in 6.9 seconds. No other diesels in the US will perform like this pair of BMW Advanced Diesel models.

Coupled with this performance potential is impressive fuel economy. The EPA mileage estimates for the 335d are 23 city and 36 highway. The X5 xDrive35d is rated at 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. Both offer the convenience of travelling approximately 580 miles between fill-ups.

Thanks to BluePerformance technology, this unparalleled blend of performance and efficiency can only be found in a BMW Advanced Diesel.

2009 BMW 3 Series Sedan and Sports Wagon: The quintessential sports sedan and wagon once again raise the bar
The 2009 3 Series Sedan and Sports Wagon are poised to maintain market leadership with updated exterior and interior styling, new technologies, enhanced ergonomics and the introduction of BMW Advanced Diesel with BluePerformance in the 335d Sedan.

A Subtle freshening of exterior design features a new front end, more dynamic profile, and wider rear stance. Headlights and taillights are new, yet present a typically BMW look, innovative lighting technology and 3-dimensional effects. The refinement of the interior design reflects and complements the distinctive exterior design. Among functional updates are ergonomically enhanced placement of power-window controls for the driver and new, expanded storage possibilities.

The optional onboard navigation system features an all-new iDrive control concept and display. It offers new menus, new direct-select keys and Programmable Memory Keys. Subscribers to the optional BMW Assist Convenience Plan can access "BMW Search" to quickly find a desired business or other point of interest with just a key word search, using Google search technology and intelligence, even from the convenience of your home or office. Once a destination has been found, route guidance or a hands-free call from a Bluetooth® -linked phone is available at just a simple push of a button.

For 2009, BMW maintains its position as a leader in technology while providing the most innovative blend of performance and fuel economy that are the hallmarks of BMW EfficientDynamics.
