2010 Audi A5/S5 Cabriolet Unveiled...Too Bad its Winter

Just in time for winter, Audi has unveiled the Cabriolet versions of the A5 and S5.

For 2010 Audi is going to release drop top versions of its beautiful A5 and S5 coupes. But unlike BMW, Infiniti and Lexus, these drop tops will feature a fabric top. It's obvious that a soft top saves more weight over a metal folding top and also saves some cargo space, but its definitely not as nice to look at when the top is up.

The 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet will be powered by either the 2.0L TFSI four-cylinder or the 3.2 FSI V6 engine. The S5 coupe is currently powered by 4.2L V8 that it will keep until the end of the 2010 model year, but the S5 Cabriolet is already making the switch to the smaller engine with the 3.0L TFSI V6 that is also in the S4.

The 2010 Audi A5/S5 Cabriolet will be available in the fall of 2009.

More Pics of the 2009 Ferrari California Speeding Around in California

ferrari_california_new.jpg
We've already seen countless photos of Ferrari's newest model, the California. But these newest photos were actually taken in California (note the pics of the car on the Golden Gate Bridge and Bay Bridge).

The Ferrari California is powered by a 460 horsepower 4.3L V8 that is mated to 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The car reaches 0-60 mph in less than 4 seconds.

Oh also just in case you're actually one of the few not effected by the current economic crisis, the Ferrari California is supposedly sold out through 2010.

Baby Porsche Cayenne Spied - The Roxster?

Spy photographers Brenda Priddy and Co. have spotted the prototype for the upcoming Baby Porsche Cayenne (dubbed Roxster by some) near Germany’s famed Nurburgring.

There have been many rumors that Porsche has been developing this smaller SUV based on the Audi Q5 platform for some time now and this could be the first hard evidence on the web!

The Porsche looks to have a lower ride height than the Q5, giving away its more sporting intentions.
No word on what is powering little Baby Cayenne, but Audi’s 3.2L V6 is a very likely candidate.
Stay tuned to CarZi.com for more details to emerge in the coming months.

It seems that the US always gets screwed compared to the models that Europe and Japan get. This includes diesel vehicles which are finally starting to make a comeback here. Spy-Photos: Alfa-Romeo 8C Competizione

Alfa 8C

One of the best looking concept cars to ever hit the auto show circuit has finally been spotted in production car trim, by none other than Spy Photographer Extraordinaire Brenda Priddy.

The 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione concept car debuted at the Paris Auto Show last fall. Production of the limited edition super sports car (450hp 4.6L V8, 6 speed dual-clutch paddle shifter tranny, 20″ wheels) is to start shortly at the rate of 500 cars per year.

This heavily masked production version was captured during testing in Germany. While some details have deviated from the show car (wheels/ wider A-pillars), overall the final car still captures the spirit and essence of the superb original concept. Hmmmm… those new wheels look familiar. Where have I seen that design before? Oh I remember, on a Maserati MC12 !!!

If this car should make it to North America, expect to shell about $200,000 USD if you can get your stinky hands on a copy. I hope they are sold here; I can’t wait to spot one on the road. In any case, expect the first customer cars to start showing up on MadWhips in a year or so.
